Last week, our Executive Director Emma Reeves traveled to Montreal to strengthen Free The Bid’s foothold in Montreal’s advertising industry!

On Tuesday, November 6th, Emma met with a group of women directors (Tara Johns, Zoe Pelchat, Melanie Charbonneau, Charlotte Ratel, and Marie-Julie Dallaire) at the Montreal offices of production company 4Zero1. Thanks to Executive Producer Stéphanie Lord and the entire 4Zero1 team for hosting this meeting of the minds at their studio!

The following day, on Thursday November 7th, Emma had the honor of presenting as a part of the Infopresse Forum Femmes, discussing Free The Bid’s first two years of advocacy for women directors and the next steps that brands can take to create more authentic, effective marketing efforts.

Thanks to Isabelle Marjorie Tremblay and Catherine Rondeau at Infopresse for the generous invitation!

We’d also like to thank Claudia Roy, Global Head of Production, Content & Experiential at our pledged supporters Sid Lee. Not only did she join Emma on stage (pictured below), but Claudia also generously made introductions to other key players within Montreal’s advertising agency community – it takes a village!

The Forum Femmes conference took place at Montreal’s PHI Centre, which was concurrently hosting a screening of Free The Bid director Eliza McNitt‘s acclaimed and award-winning virtual reality experience, “Spheres”, as part of the exhibit Echo: The Sound of Space. Running from September 25th – January 20th, we highly recommend taking the time to view the Canadian premiere of this landmark three-part experience!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Montreal following this visit, as we will be announcing a series of new pledges and the appointment of a Montreal ambassador soon!
