Rebecca Sherwood
Sports, music and social justice documentaries are the genres Rebecca has cut the most of during the last 6 years in NYC. She’s edited pieces that played on PBS, CBS Sports Network & Netflix. She’s had million plus views on YouTube serialized content and a New York Times Op-Doc. Knowing the audience is a key factor of focus in her editing.
Rebecca cuts, color corrects and audio mixes short pieces for a variety of verticals. Previously she staff edited for Billboard music magazine; covering red carpet events, creating YouTube content, and teaching interns. Hearst has been a past client as well, thru Good Housekeeping. Rebecca was an Editor / Post Production Supervisor at Live from Lincoln Center; creating long form PBS performance programming & short form artist documentaries. She was one half of duo that edited, The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution in 2014 which premiered at Sundance.
Rebecca holds an MFA from Ohio University’s School of Film, where she received the Betty Thomas Award for female filmmakers. She worked with the Austin Film Society in Texas and received a B.A. in Film Studies from Michigan State University.
