LA native, Kristin Yawata is a self-described eternal student. Growing up in Southern California provided her the unique opportunity to experience the art of filmmaking at a young age. Her desire to explore storytelling as a career led Yawata to UC-Santa Cruz where she studied Film and Digital Media. Upon graduation, she found herself gravitating towards editorial as she greatly enjoyed watching the entire filmmaking process come together as a finished product.
Today, Yawata works at jumP editorial in Los Angeles, where she focuses her time on commercials and digital projects. Her work with Luna Bars and The New Yorker have allowed her to participate in projects focused on empowering women. In her spare time, Yawata enjoys traveling and working on personal projects close to her heart.
