Katie Turinski is a commercial editor and filmmaker, based in New York City. Her commercial clients include Nike, Facebook, Google, Apple, Coca-Cola, Target, Sony, Samsung and Verizon. She directed/edited the documentary feature, “Sissyboy”, which premiered at SXSW and won a Best Documentary Special Jury Award at the Salem Film Festival. She co-edited “Raw Faith”, which won a Best Feature Documentary Award at the Columbia Gorge Festival and the Human Spirit Award at the Nashville Film Festival. She has edited for Free the Bid directors Tannaz Hazemi and Ayse Altinok on their narrative short and commercial work. Turinski was selected as one of twelve filmmakers to participate in Wild Mind Film Camp, a documentary filmmaking intensive led by director Doug Pray. Katie has been a Contributing Editor for the Sundance Institute Documentary Edit and Story Lab. Her passion for arts mentorship has led her to work as a filmmaking instructor at Camp Caldera, an arts-based summer camp for at-risk youth, as well as a mentor for AICE’s PrePro mentorship program in New York City.
