Kathy Gatto is an award-winning editor and dedicated artist. Her passion for storytelling and engaging the viewer spans all genres and her experience includes commercial, scripted, unscripted, documentary and feature narrative film editing. She studied film production and cinema studies at Hunter College in New York City, and it was there that she zeroed in on the art of editing. She accepted a job as an assistant editor at HBO Studios after graduation and thus began her 18 year career. Soon after starting out in television promo editing, she transitioned to film and commercial work, where her knack for storytelling really took hold. Her documentary work has screened at many film festivals, including SXSW and TriBeCa. She edited the feature documentary film, Oxyana, which received 2 top prizes at the TriBeCa Film Festival in 2013. Gatto’s commercial work has included campaigns for such brands as Airbnb, Google, Nike, Bacardi and Etsy.  And her commercial content has garnered international recognition and awards – including Cannes Gold Lion and One Screen Best Documentary. Additionally, there are several of her projects in permanent installation at museums around the United States, including: Tribute – the World Trade Center Museum, The Smithsonian Institute, Federal Hall and the World War II Museum.
