Charla Barker has been working in post-production for the past 10 years and is highly skilled in both the creative and technical aspects of editing. For the past 7 years she has been working for Hybrid Collective, a creative editorial and finish studio that focuses on commercial advertising and branded content. While at Hybrid she has worked on several different projects including online and broadcast advertising campaigns, documentaries, short films, EPK & BTS content for feature films, sizzle reels, pilots and music videos. In addition, Hybrid Collective also provides finishing services including color-correction and online sessions. Charla has worked closely with their finishing artists and supervising sessions.

Before working at Hybrid, Charla worked for the Media Policy Center, a production company that produced documentaries and television series for public television. During her time there she produced & edited a feature length documentary for PBS titled, “Growing Greener Schools,” about the emerging green schools movement and the importance of environmental education.

While completing her master’s degree in film production Charla directed, produced and edited, How Ohio Pulled It Off, a feature length documentary that explores allegations of voter disenfranchisement during the 2004 Presidential Election in the U.S. This film was broadcast on the Documentary Channel and nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy in 2008.

Overall Charla is very familiar with several different kinds of digital workflows and highly skilled working with Avid, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro in addition to several other related programs.
