Betty Jo’s editorial future was decided at an early age when the family home’s “Raging Bull” poster fell on her head.
Hailing from Atlantic Canada, she spent a few years in the Naval Reserves, but returned to dry land for a BFA from Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. Thanks to NAFTA she was able to flee the oppressive Canadian regime for Chicago, IL. Self-taught, she edited multiple film festival shorts before ‘going legit’ in Post-Production.
Betty Jo is passionate about editing and follows her Final Cut Edit mentors who encourage instinct and uncommon choices. She’s grateful and knows there is nothing else she’d rather do. In her spare time, Betty Jo is a budding ceramicist. She’s visited 5 continents, and her dream is to watch the Tour de France in person. The Atlantic will always be first in her heart. She lives in New York with no trace of a Canadian accent.
