Sarah Spillane is a multi-award winning Australian-American writer & director.
Sarah’s debut feature film, Around The Block (starring Christina Ricci and Ruby Rose) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 and was released internationally in 2014. Sarah won several awards for Around The Block including an Australian Director’s Guild Award. Sarah has directed hours of television for Australia’s National Indigenous Television Network and multiple American and Australian television commercials and branded content. Sarah’s current slate spans the globe with TV series in development in the US and the UK for Warner Bros and several independent producers. Sarah also created the graphic novel and comic book series Rebel, currently in its fifth edition. On the feature side Sarah is attached to direct the Australian film, True Spirit, based on the true story of Jessica Watson, the youngest person to complete a southern hemisphere solo circumnavigation. In the US, she has co-written and is attached to direct No Fear In Love starring Juno Temple.
Based in Los Angeles, Sarah divides her time between Australia, the US, and the UK, and is consistently creating quality film, television and digital content in all corners of the globe.
