Nava Mau is a trans Latina filmmaker, actress, and cultural worker from Mexico City and San Antonio, Texas. Most recently, Nava wrote, produced, directed, and starred in “Waking Hour,” a short film about a young trans woman balancing her safety with her desire for intimacy. It is currently screening online and in festivals, such as Outfest Fusion, Inside Out, and Reel Out Charlotte. She serves as a producer for “Lovebites,” a short film currently in post-production. Her long-term vision is to illuminate the stories of queer and transgender people of color (QTPOC) in order to expand their access to resources.
