After graduating from Oxford University in 2007, MJ Delaney directed films for Vivienne Westood, BBC Online, Dazed and Confused and Comic Relief. At 26, she directed a spoof music video playing off of Jay Z’s “Empire State Of Mind” which went on to become a Youtube sensation, and one of the biggest internet hits of 2010. The success of the viral film lead to a series of spots for Aldi, with McCann Manchester. The campaign for Aldi was a major hit—winning BTAA craft and campaign awards, Best Campaign at Campaign Big Awards in 2012, and landing MJ on the cover of Shots Magazine. MJ signed to Moxie Pictures for global commercial representation that same year, and has since directed spots for Avon, Nivea, KFC, Dove, Dairylea, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s and Febreze, to name a few.

Her first feature film Powder Room was picked up at the Cannes Film Festival 2013 for worldwide release by Universal Pictures.
