Michelle Cassis is a young Chilean director based in Santiago de Chile. Filmmaking and Cinematography graduate from the New York Film
Academy in New York.

She has directed world renowned campaigns such as The Hidden Flag, where 6 activist snuck the rainbow pride flag using only their soccer jerseys at the world cup in Russia this year. With over a dozen awards including 2 Grand Prix and the award for Best Latin Idea for the World, The Hidden Flag became the most awarded campaign at the recent El Ojo de Iberoamérica advertising festival and Michelle took over the 2nd place in the festival’s ranking for best director. She has directed commercials for worldwide brands such as Pepsi , Kibon, Santander, Belcorp, Unilever UK and its ice cream brand, Cornetto, winning her first Lion at the Cannes Lions 2016 for the Cornetto’s Commitment Rings ad shot in New York. The campaign had huge media success and was also awarded at El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2016 (Argentina) and El Sol Festival (Spain).

Director of three short films, Michelle made her debut as a writer and director with “Astro Son”, a fiction short film about eight-year-old Tharir,
and his dreams of becoming an astronaut so he can see his father again. It got into various film festivals around the globe such as TIFF Toronto
International Film Festival Kids, SANFIC 10 Santiago Festival Internacional de Cine, Providence Children’s Film Festival , among others. “Queens of flesh and blood” , her second film is a fashion piece, portraying the hard life of three women living in New York. This film got into many fashion film festivals, including: La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival, Mexico’s Fashion Film Festival, Bokeh Mercedes Benz International Film Festival , among others and winning the award for Best Emerging Artist at the BAIFFF: Buenos Aires International Fashion Film Festival. Her latest film titled “One Way” portrays the everyday life of a transgender woman and the challenges reality brings. The feeling of being different in a world that doesn’t accept you for who you are. The film has also been selected in festivals such as Modive-Se in Brazil, semi finalist at the Miami Short Film Festival and Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival.

Because of this, in 2017, Michelle was selected among the 100 young leaders of 2017 in Chile. A recognition given by El Mercurio, one of the biggest newspaper in the country and the Adolfo Ibañez University. Lately, Michelle has directed various music videos for local and international artists such as Leslie Shaw, Dani Ride, Sergyo, among others,

Today, Michelle works in advertising, music videos and personal projects. In Chile, she is represented by Triciclo Films . Abroad she is represented by Canica Films in Lima and Chronos Cinema in Los Angeles, CA.
