Meredith Danluck
Meredith Danluck began her career as an artist working in film and video. Her work has exhibited internationally at institutions such as the Liverpool Biennial, Reina Sofia Museum, MoMA, PS1 Museum, Venice Biennale and Ballroom Marfa.
Her short films and feature documentaries have exhibited at film festivals all over the world, including TIFF, SXSW, Byron Bay, Hamburg International, Margaret Mead, Tribeca, and Sundance, where she screened an ambitious four-screen feature film entitled, North of South, West of East. The festival built a custom theater to house the four feature length narrative films, which play simultaneously in perfect symphony surrounding swivel seating.
She was selected for the Sundance 2013 Writers Lab, as well as the 2013 Sundance Directors Lab for her feature, shot in 2017, the psychological thriller State Like Sleep, starring Michael Shannon, Katherine Waterston, Luke Evans and Mary Kay Place. State Like Sleep premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival and was released in early 2019.
Her work in music videos has lead to multi-channel video concert tour visuals for John Legend, Jay Z and Beyonce. She recently installed a multiscreen immersive holographic show featuring Dita Von Teese for the new luxury Casino in Macau, Studio City. She served an Executive Producer and Director on the Viceland Network show, Earthworks, that features bands such as Animal Collective and Miguel as they travel to distant locations to record live, on site EP’s while exploring humanitarian and environmental issues in the region.
Recently, she competed for and won a coveted commission to create a short film for Refinery29’s Shatterbox Anthology, with sponsorship provided by DOVE® Chocolate. The resulting short, Clavadista, debuted on the Refinery29 platform in July 2018.
