Mel abandoned her film studies to move to London and take her chances on the industry there, managed to land right on her feet in post production at a little company called MPC, maybe you’ve heard of it.  She shot effects elements for the commercials of Glazer, Planchon, Bond – you probably haven’t heard of them. Briefly moved on to production working on several music videos before returning to South Africa.

In South Africa she discovered a job position called research – a gateway job to Directing. She continued to work as a creative researcher arming herself with mad skills in conceptualizing, visual language and narrative.

Now motivated by a desire to capture the realism of her uniquely South African culture and put it into pop culture.
