Martyna Iwanska is a Polish director, specializing in commercial films, fashion movies and music videos. Her films create visually compelling stories with emotional depth. Martyna loves connecting powerful narratives and deep emotions to high aesthetic standards. She places strong focus on the emotional aspect of each piece of work.
After studying at Lodz Film School, she directed ‘Happy Island’, a film that was short listed in the prestigious Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, Shots.net selected her Gazeta.pl commercial for their reel.
With her music video ‘Unconscious’ she swept up the prestigious Yach Award, leading the piece to travel through many different festivals – Williamsburg International Film Festival in New York, Short Waves Grand Prix, Berlin Music Video Award and the International Music Video Festival in Paris.
‘Father’ – a music video for the band, Rysy, was awarded Best Music Video in The Artists Forum in New York, Vienna Shorts Festival, New York International Film Festival and Brazil Cinefest. She also received the award for the Best VFX at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2017.
Martyna’s films were shown during the Female Director Showcase, which took place during the Los Angeles Music Video Festival in 2014.
She’s worked with commercial clients such as Coca Cola, KFC, Danone, Tchibo, Renault, Orange, T-mobile, Mastercard, Johnson&Johnson.
