Kate’s aim as a writer/ director is to unearth compelling female led stories that represent the under-represented and deal sensitively with home truths. Her passion for topics relating to gender saw her conceptual dance film, ‘Unboxing’ (2017), which explores gender as a non-binary energy, screen at San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2018 and at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2018. Her latest short, Vert (2019), starring Nikki Amuka-Bird, Nick Frost and Olivia Vinall, explores how a loving relationship and one’s  identity can change over time and through a VR experience unconditional love allows for new exploration.

Kate is currently in pre-production for her second short drama Torr (2019). Torr looks at how friendship and communication is often the first step towards healing, Torr deals with the sensitive and epidemic issue of self harm among teenage girls in the UK. 

Kate champions female crews, getting close to 100% on the set of ‘Bushi’, a commercial shot in Tokyo for DITA Eyewear. Kate’s other films and promos have been commissioned by Channel 4, The British Fashion Council, Marie Yatt, Vogue Film x Gucci,  Farfetch and The Barbican Arts.
