Kate’s aim as a writer/ director is to unearth compelling, female led stories that represent the under-represented and deal sensitively with home truths. Her passion for topics relating to gender saw her conceptual dance film, Unboxing, 2017, which explores gender as a non-binary energy, screen at San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2018 and at Aesthetica Short Film Festival, 2018. Her latest short, Vert, 2019, starring Nikki Amuka-Bird, Nick Frost and Olivia Vinall, explores how a relationship and one’s identity can change over time it is currently submitting to festivals and will have it’s UK premiere at Encounters 2019.

Kate is currently in pre-production for her second short drama Torr, 2019. TORR looks at how friendship and communication is often the first step towards healing in people that self-harm. Torr highlights the sensitive and epidemic issue of self-harm and cyber bullying among teenage girls in the UK. 

Kate champions female crews, getting close to 100% on the set of Bushi, a commercial shot in Tokyo for DITA Eyewear. Kate’s other films and promos have been commissioned by Channel 4, The British Council, LN-CC, MarieYat, Vogue Film x Gucci,  Farfetch, and The Barbican Arts.
