Jess is a comedic storyteller who joined O Positive in 2018. She has directed spots for IKEA, FedEx, Twix, Verdesian and Geico, among others, which standout both for their funny stories and visual style. Most recently an award-winning creative director at BBDO New York, she also draws from improv and sketch writing/acting/directing with NYC’s Upright Citizens Brigade and The Pit, along with screenwriting and still photography.
Jess’s work has been recognized with Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, CLIOS, Effies and AICP honors. In 2016, she was named one of Business Insider’s 30 Most Creative Women in Advertising. That same year, she was a Makers@ awardee at the MAKERS conference, an honor given to game-changing females across all industries, and was invited to attend The United State of Women Summit put on by The Obamas. She was also named to The 3% Conference and The One Club’s “Next Creative Leader,” one of 10 rising female stars in the industry.
Advertising isn’t all Jess is known for. At different points in her career, she has been a hip-hop dancer, food writer, burlesque world champion, mock fashion Instagrammer, Krav Maga fighter, jingle singer and NFL cheerleader. Today when she’s not directing, you can find her writing stuff, photographing stuff and creating a wholesome home environment for her husband, dog baby and human baby.
