Jam Patel is a British award-winning director. Her work is infused with a striking sense of color, mood and place, filled with a signature passion, energy and humor that stems directly from her personality.
Jam’s early career started at Dazed & Confused magazine. After contributing as a Photographer she went onto shoot Fashion for numerous editorials worldwide.
She later blazed a trail onto the international fashion film circuit with her short films. This included her debut commercial film ‘To Die For’ shot in the style of a murder mystery for Charlotte Olympia. Suzie Menkes’ review for the New York Times read, “With its saturated color and visual tension, the mini-film, directed by the fashion photographer known as Jam, is yet another example of how a live show is not the only answer in modern fashion”.
Jam is a true author of ideas, she considers herself a storyteller first and foremost, always presenting a narrative into rich and sensual films with a distinctive vision.
Her Indian heritage that nurtured a love for the vivid and bold combined with her enthusiasm for hyperrealism led to her unique style, delving at times into the erotic and surreal.
Jam’s commercial & editorial clients include Chanel, Osman, Celine, Charlotte Olympia, Vogue. Her films have won numerous awards and nominations, the latest win was at Miami International Fashion Film Festival for ‘Best Fashion’.
Jam has recently finished her new short film, ‘Just For Today’ and is currently working on her first feature film project.
