Ishbel is an Academy Award shortlisted filmmaker who works in film, design, creative direction and of course commercials. Her work encompasses both striking, beautiful and cinematic imagery as well as powerful narratives and performances. Ishbel was formerly part of the directing duyo, marc &ish, whose sensational ad for Renault Clio was Campaign’s Ad Of The Week. The News of The World called it Britain?s sexiest TV ad ever, as it featured a stripping Dita Von Teese. AdFreak said of the spot “It’s so self-consciously wacky, it’s awesome”. It was banned on UK daytime TV and became a global media sensation. The spot for Amnesty International on the issue of CIA water boarding was YouTube’s ‘most watched’ 2 days in a row and brought down Amnesty’s server farm. She directed the acclaimed documentary Living Goddess, following the lives of Nepal’s child goddesses, against the violent backdrop of the Maoist revolution, and was Exec Producer of David Lachapelle’s cult film Rize. She has collaborated with David LaChapelle, the KLF, Orb, Adam Freeland and Zaha Hadid. Clients include Levi’s, Renault Clio, Amnesty International, Channel 4, Weiden + Kennedy and Publicis. She was a Creative at BBH, created installations for the Institute of Contemporary Art, London and at the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles (for an anti meth campaign), and exhibited her artworks in Europe and The States.
