Hailing from the bucolic English countryside, NYC-based director Emily Anderson studied Sculpture at the Glasgow School of Art. Since then she has spent her career telling people’s stories in a variety of other mediums.
Her versatility is evident in the breadth of her work; equally comfortable directing actors and celebrities, as she is real people and kids. A natural storyteller, Emily’s two passions are action sports and making people cry. The constant in all her work is her commitment to provoking genuine emotion and creating cinematic imagery to match.
She’s shot content for clients including Amex, ESPN X Games, Holiday Inn, IBM, Nationwide, Patagonia, and Siemens. Her recurring work for Philips has taken her around the world, where she has created films that profile the brand’s innovation in numerous international communities. Her first commercial was for adult urinary incontinence pads. She was recognized as one of SHOOT magazine’s 2016 ‘New Directors to Watch.’ Her goal is to be the first female director of a James Bond film. She’s developing her work towards feature length narrative films and is excited about the journey ahead.
