Bec Peniston-Bird is an award winning writer/director. Her short films include Summer Suit (Official Selection, Berlin International Film Festival) and Goodnight Sweetheart (Official Selection, Palm Springs International Film Festival). Her first feature screenplay, the Cold War thriller Petrova, is being developed with support from Screen Australia and won the Australian Writers’ Guild’s 2017 Insite Award for best unproduced feature.
Bec has directed TVC’s and created video content for a wide range of clients including Chunky Move Dance Company, MTV and Lonely Planet TV.
She also has extensive documentary experience, including Keith Haring Uncovered for ABC Television and Nick Cave: Abusing the Muse, which premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival.
A member of the Australian Writers Guild’s Pathways Program, Bec was been selected to represent Australia at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Talent Campus in 2018.
