Aubree Bernier-Clarke is a Los Angeles-based director and cinematographer. After spending her early 20s playing guitar in an all-girl band in her Kentucky hometown, she chased her riot grrrl dreams to Portland, OR where she spent seven years working with director Lance Bangs, and then two seasons as a camera operator on the IFC hit Portlandia.
In 2013, she was selected for AFI’s prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, through which she developed her first original narrative short film, The Night Is Ours, now streaming on Amazon Prime. She has directed commercial and branded content work for Levi’s, Honda, Toyota, Wildfang and Coors. She has also created original content for Rolling Stone, Wired, MOCA, and The Ace Hotel. She has directed behind-the- scenes and EPK films for Pharrell Williams, Annapurna Pictures and Amazon Studios. Her films have premiered at New Orleans Film Festival, Outfest and Frameline, and have screened at film festivals worldwide.
