Anna Snowball
Anna Snowball is a documentary filmmaker interested in opening-up new worlds for her audience and enabling people to be themselves on camera. She specialises in intimate documentaries with incredible access and revelatory interviews. Her strength is understanding people and bringing them to life on screen.
She has made films with AMV BBDO, Red Bull, Flare Studio, Essity, Jigsaw and Kodak Phones. Her work has broadcast on BBC One and Channel 4, and featured on digital platforms such as Nowness, Real Stories and CNN.
Her documentaries have impact. ‘Life Lessons’ went viral, racking up 13 million views on YouTube. ‘Spring Fever’ was screened at Cannes Lions as part of the Glass Lion-winning #bloodnormal campaign from AMV BBDO. ‘Cambodia Calling’ was shortlisted for a Grierson award. Her films regularly play at festivals including Open City Docs, IDFA, BFI FFF, IKFF Hamburg, LSFF, and London International Documentary Festival.
She was selected as a BAFTA Guru Pro in 2016, studied an MA in Directing Documentary at the National Film and Television School between 2013-2014, and did a filmmaking residency at the British Film Institute in 2012.
She co-founded and runs Glow Films, a London-based documentary production company.
