Originally from Australia, Alethea is a director and writer who lives in Los Angeles.

Alethea graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2007 and has since done extensive commercial work in Australia for clients such as Bertolli and Kotex. She made her American television debut in 2014 with Amazon’s Gortimer Gibbon’s project, Life on Normal Street, and has also directed episodes of Wrecked (TBS) and American Woman (Paramount). Alethea’s short films have been honored in recognition of their distinct and original humor at festivals such as the St. Kilda Film Festival, Tropfest Australia, Sydney Film Festival, and the Melbourne International Film Festival. Alethea recently completed her first feature, Fun Mom Dinner, an R-Rated ensemble comedy starring Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, Katie Aselton, Bridget Everett and Adam Scott.

She is slated to direct the upcoming Sony feature, Barbie, starring Anne Hathaway.
