Sulene van der Walt is a South African New Yorker who’s compositions have been heard on the TV shows Ray Donovan (Showtime), The Affair (Showtime), Extant (CBS), as well as several feature films, including Tribe (starring Tim Blake Nelson) and Hold Fast, Good Luck (starring Olivia Hamilton of La La Land).
In 2017, van der Walt released her debut solo record titled “Strange” which has been heard on the latest season of MTV’s Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. Van der Walt has written scores for several short films as well as commercial spots, including REI’s recent “We Are” campaign.
As a multi-instrumental, van der Walt supports Nate Ruess (of the band, fun.) as lead guitarist and backing vocalist. She has performed live on national television on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Today Show, VH1, and many more, as well as graced the stages of Fuji Rock in Japan, Austin City Limits, Spotify Sessions, iHeart Radio, and Gillette Stadium for the NHL Winter Classic. In 2016, van der Walt performed alongside Ruess in the East Room of the White House.
