Scarlet A. Newman-Thomas is an LA-based composer/multi-instrumentalist/performer.

She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she double-majored in music (with a focus in composition) and political & economic development.  In addition to Berkeley’s Jazz Improv Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra, Scarlet played with local bands as well as an African drumming group—even traveling to Ghana to further her knowledge of West African music and culture.

While she is primarily a drummer/percussionist, she is also self-taught on guitar, piano, bass, and ukelele, and sings on many of her compositions as well.  She has been composing/scoring for seven years, writing primarily for TV commercials and occasionally for film, television shows, and web series across a wide range of genres/styles.
