Margot has been playing the the violin since she was four years old. After 15 years of classical training, she moved to New York City and heard her first pop song. Soon after, Margot was writing and performing string arrangements on records for artists like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Sklyar Grey, Sam Sparro and touring arenas with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
During this time, she met DJ Mia Moretti and they formed a band called The Dolls, inspired by disco and big band arrangements. The DJ/violin duo have toured the world opening for Katy Perry, Eve, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and have performed inside the Louvre, Guggenheim Museum and The National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C.. Their latest release entitled Club Soda was produced, written, arranged and performed by Margot.
Margot has also scored compositions for Nike Women, the Whitney Museum, American Express, Barneys NY, Elle, and film trailers such as The Homesman (featuring Tommy Lee Jones & Meryl Streep) and 50 Shades of Grey.
Margot lives in New York City where she is recording her solo record and often finds herself laying on the floor of her Brooklyn apartment listening to her favorite moody classical records rolling her eyes every time she remembers how every piece she studied growing up was written by a man — and how her shelf of classical records mirrors that truth.
Not for long.
