Charlotte McMillan’s dramatic and expansive music appears in the Xbox game Advent Rising, the iOS games Dwarves’ Tale and Forest Legends: The Call of Love, and in many independent films, including dramas, documentaries, and animation. Her sweeping composition “Poeta” was performed at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Video Games Live concert in 2005. Her scores have been heard at numerous festivals, including the Los Angeles Cinema Festival Hollywood, the Pencil Head’s Dusk ’til Dawn Fest, and the Action on Film International, Hermosa Shorts, Smogdance, and Green Lifestyle film festivals.

Though in recent years she has focused on orchestral music, she also enjoys composing in other genres such as jazz, funk, hybrid cinematic, and acoustic guitar. Charlotte studied classical piano performance and electro-acoustic media at the University of Southern California. It was at USC that she first cut her teeth on film scoring. In the years following her studies, she worked for David Bowie keyboardist Mike

Garson as well as Jim Lang, composer for the Hey Arnold animation series. She also was a mentee in the Society of Composers and Lyricists’ Mentor Program. When she’s not composing, she plays duets with her piano duet partner.
