Aimee Bessada
Aimee Bessada is a composer, songwriter and performer currently residing in Toronto.
A recent alumni of the prestigious CFC Slaight Music Lab, she has quickly added a number of projects to her growing portfolio as a composer creating original music for CBC web series How To Buy A Baby (recipient of the 2018 Indie Award for Best Web Comedy), and writing additional music for Netflix Original Movie’s Irreplaceable You (released February 2018) and Nappily Ever After (to be released September 2018) as an assistant to acclaimed composer Lesley Barber (Manchester By the Sea, You Can Count On Me). She is currently scoring the upcoming Hulu series Holly Hobbie, to be released in the fall of 2018.
Over the course of a decade-long career as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto, Aimee Bessada has toured internationally. She has opened for a range of artists, including Cyndi Lauper and Sia and performed at various events and festivals, such as the Venice Biennale in 2013. Bessada’s 2015 solo debut was the EP A Dream, A Coast, co-produced with Grammy-nominated Linda Perry. It showcases her unique sensibility and musical range through a blend of folk pop, grunge and beach wave.
Bessada has been highlighted on VH1, and her songs have been featured in a range of commercials, television spots and short films.
