Rianne White is an award winning film director and choreographer from Scotland. From a young age, Rianne was interested in dance, which quickly led to insisting on classes and leotards growing up. At 15, Rianne found her directing debut within theatre, presenting her first piece at The Kings Theatre, Edinburgh. Rianne pursued dance throughout school and influenced a degree in Choreography years later at Falmouth University.
Rianne spent time within Falmouth developing personal film projects around movement. These experimental pieces quickly gained acknowledgement and led to a series of festival screenings and opportunities. In this time, Rianne choreographed for short film, Nevada and Pulse, directed by Ruth Paxton. Rianne began as a producer within a young production, working with companies, LandRover, AkzoNobel and Diesel. As Rianne developed personal projects, the passion for directing quickly took over leading to several award winning pieces within music video and commercial work. 2017 Rianne ventured into the freelance world in Scotland directing a series of Fashion TVC’s and producing and directing music video, Lord; for band Young Fathers. Lord received notable press and recognition with international festival selections, winning The CICFF GOLDEN FOX 2019. Rianne also worked as choreographer for TV Series Outlander in Scotland. In Dec-Feb ’18, Rianne participates as writer and filmmaker under the NES Artist Residency programme in Skagastrond, Iceland. Rianne signs with Partizan in the summer of 2018.
Rianne has worked with a spectrum of talent including; Young Fathers, Ellie Goulding, The Proclaimers, SAKIMA, The Ninth Wave, Honeyblood, POLO, VOCES8, Gilligan Moss, Moss Kena. Currently based between Edinburgh and London, 2019 is going to be an exciting year.
